Carving knives with a sharp tip are designed for detailing and working in hard to reach places. Blade length 45mm or 60mm, rounded butt. A comfortable oval redwood handle is saturated with oil and covered with shellac. The length of the handle - 115mm. Excellent knife for both beginners and professionals. The 2.5 mm thick blade is made of high carbon steel hardened to a 59-61 HRc. All the cutters are sharpened and ready to go. Carving axe Zvenigorod VII is quite small and easy to control. It's weight is about 650g, makes it maneuverable and allows you to work more accurate and precise.

The shape of the axe head was designed for carving operations where palm is resting extreamly close to axe head or even on the axe head. This design helps to exelent control of the axe even during long carving sessions. Grip above the head is used for trimming, stripping. This axe model was based on samples from museum "Rubankov" and finalized taking into account the wishes of wood carvers.

The axe head is hand forged from steel 65Г (spring steel) and hardened to 55 - 58 HRc at the cutting edge and along the entire beard, the rest part is normalized to HB280. This hardening allows you to hit the poll without the risk of creating a cracks in the metal.
Head has mounted to handle on 3 wedges, one along the head eye and two in cross section.

Cutting edge is razor sharp and ready to work out of the box. Sharpening angle - 30 degrees.

Axe handle is made of maple* and coated with Danish oil**. The hatchet handle has a longitudinal bend. In cross-section the handle has the shape of an egg, which is very convenient for good grip while carving. Handle has a hole for hanging.

Water stone. 2000 grit. Size 200*70*20mm. Abrasive grain - silicon carbide. Bundle - ceramics. Hardness I ensures minimal wear of the stone during operation. When sharpening does not overheat the steel. Does not require the use of oil. Soak in water for 2-10 minutes before use. Used for sharpening and setting bevels.
