Leather fingertip for woodcarvers
Leather fingertip is a thumb guard for wood carvers by Petrograd toolworks. Designed to protect hands from sharp tools. Thumb guard protects your finger from cut injuries when you are moving the cutting tool towards thumb, and prevents the formation of calluses when working away from yourself. Carpenter drawknife PETROGRAD N11, u-shaped, with raised arms, 270mm
A flat drawknife with curved and perpendicular cutting edge with handles will be convenient for various operations both in woodworking and carpentry: precise fit of logs in size, manufacture of seats, quick material removal in joinery, etc. Handles are raised above the blade plane and allow work closely to the treated surface. The blade is forged manually from tool steel 65G (Germany 66Mn4, Ck67, USA 1066) and hardened to 55-58 HRC. Sharpening - chamfering up. Handles 140 mm long are made of beech and impregnated with oil. Blade length - 270 mm, width 36 mm. Blade thickness - 6 mm, sharpening angle - 30 degrees. Comes in a leather case with a clasp on the buttons. The design of the drawknives, as well as their sharpening, is recommended by the Russian Carpenters Union for debarking and carpentry work on fitting logs. Other kinds of carpentry work may require regrinding.Blade was fully hardened through, that allows you to repeatedly honing the blade or his fully re-grind it. Flat M-shaped drawknife is designed for woodworking, wood carving, as well as for carpentry. Ideal for making Windsor chairs.
