Dead blow wooden mallet* with round shape. Mallets made by woodturning from solid wood with filling of metal balls (lead shot). Filling act as a weighting agent, and also reduce recoil upon impact. Adze N2 created on the basis of a study of ancient tools, made in the northern regions of Russia and now stored in our Museum of Ancient Instruments.
Forged tempered to hardness - 58-60HRc. The adze is made of spring steel 65 g (Germany 66Mn4, Ck67, USA 1066). The width of the blade is 70 mm. Total length - 500 mm. Weight - 1.3 kg.
