Рубанок шерхебель с шириной ножа 50 мм, используется для промежуточного строгания между одинарным рубанком и шерхебелем с шириной ножа 30 мм. Благодаря широкому ножу с полукруглой режущей кромкой такой рубанок способен легко срезать большой объем материала, при этом сглаживая более грубые риски предыдущего рубанка. Это усовершенствованная модель рубанка комплектуется латунным прижимом с оригинальной гравировкой фабрики производителя. Производство фабрика Петроградъ (Россия)

Нож рубанка изготавливается из легированной инструментальной стали и проходит термическую обработку и фабричную заточку ( ~1000 грит). Рекомендуется довести нож на более тонком абразиве. Размеры ножа: длина - 175мм, ширина - 50мм. Нож имеет клиновидную форму, благодаря чему меньше вибрирует при работе и надежно фиксируется в постели рубанка. Толщина железка - от 5.5мм (у РК) до 3.5мм (у торца).
Все ножи проходят обязательную проверку на твердомере, отметки твердомера можно увидеть на лицевой части ножа выше режущей кромки. *

Колодка шерхебеля выполнена из клёна, подошва - из граба. Все деревянные части изделия покрыты грунтовочным маслом - в один слой и вторым слоем покрыто маслом и воском (кроме самой постели).

Тем не менее стоит так же помнить что это промежуточный рубанок для быстрого съема материала, после него необходимо использовать одинарник или чистовой рубанок.
* Обратная сторона ножа, не помеченная контрольными точками, не является рабочей. Не перетачивайте нож в обратную сторону
** Не допускайте резких перепадов температур и влажности воздуха во избежание коробления деревянных колодок. Рекомендуется периодически проверять геометрию подошвы рубанка, при необходимости ее можно отстрогать другим рубанком.

Leather fingertip is a thumb guard for wood carvers by Petrograd toolworks. Designed to protect hands from sharp tools. Thumb guard protects your finger from cut injuries when you are moving the cutting tool towards thumb, and prevents the formation of calluses when working away from yourself.
